Rachel Foreman, LCSW

Rachel Foreman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Lafayette, Louisiana, with more than 20 years of experience in the field of mental health. She founded Acadiana Center for Behavioral Health to provide personalized diagnosis and treatment to children and adults across the Acadiana region facing acute and chronic mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiance disorder, and grief.

Before entering mental health, Rachel spent ten years working in medical social work, an experience that gave her a close, practical understanding of how physical health, family circumstances, and emotional wellbeing are connected. That foundation has shaped her clinical approach ever since. Over the course of her career, she has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, building a wide base of knowledge in diagnosing and treating conditions that affect people at every stage of life, from young children to adults.

Rachel is the developer of the Accelerated Anxiety Program, an intensive outpatient option designed for clients who need meaningful progress on a faster timeline than traditional weekly therapy allows. It remains the only program of its kind offered in the Acadiana area. She also works closely with children and adolescents facing behavioral and emotional challenges at home and in school, partnering directly with teachers and counselors to develop effective IEPs and 504 Plans that support a child's progress both in and out of the therapy office.

Rachel is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Louisiana Association of Clinical Social Workers (LACSW). She practices out of Acadiana Center for Behavioral Health in Lafayette, serving clients throughout South Louisiana who are looking for compassionate, evidence-based mental health care.

A Mental Health Practice Built for Lafayette

Acadiana Center for Behavioral Health sits in the heart of Lafayette, Louisiana, offering diagnosis and treatment for children and adults across the Acadiana region who are navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiance disorder, grief, and other behavioral health conditions.

The practice is led by Rachel Foreman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience, including a decade in medical social work before she moved into mental health, giving her a rare understanding of how physical health, family dynamics, and emotional wellbeing intersect.

Clients throughout South Louisiana come here because they need more than a diagnosis, they need a provider who listens closely, treats every case as unique, and builds a plan around the person rather than the paperwork. Whether it's a first-time client searching for stability or a family dealing with a child's behavioral challenges at school, the practice is structured to make quality mental health care accessible, confidential, and genuinely effective for the Lafayette community and the surrounding parishes.

A Mission to Restore Balance, Not Just Manage Symptoms

The mission behind Acadiana Center for Behavioral Health is simple to state and demanding to deliver: help every client regain control of their life, not just manage the symptoms that brought them through the door. That means looking past a surface-level diagnosis to understand what's actually driving a client's anxiety, depression, or behavioral struggles, then applying evidence-based methods that are proven to work rather than generic talk therapy scripts.

For children, this often means partnering directly with teachers and school counselors to build effective IEPs and 504 Plans, so that progress made in session translates into real change in the classroom. For adults, it means creating space to work through grief, mood disorders, or chronic anxiety at a pace that respects where they actually are, not where a treatment manual assumes they should be.

Every client in Lafayette and across Acadiana deserves a provider who treats mental health with the same seriousness as physical health, and that standard shapes every session, every treatment plan, and every conversation that happens inside this practice.

What Makes This Practice Different

What separates Acadiana Center for Behavioral Health from other providers in the area starts with experience that spans both inpatient and outpatient settings, giving Rachel Foreman a wide diagnostic range most single-practice clinicians simply don't have. But the clearest differentiator is the Accelerated Anxiety Program, an intensive outpatient option currently unavailable anywhere else in the Acadiana area, built specifically for clients whose chronic anxiety needs faster relief than a once-a-week appointment can provide.

Add to that a genuine focus on children and adolescents, including direct coordination with schools on behavioral plans, and a client base that includes families dealing with everything from oppositional defiance to grief, and the result is a practice equipped to handle complexity that many general therapy offices refer elsewhere.

Insurance is accepted, appointments are private and confidential, and every client, whether they're an adult managing depression or a parent trying to get their child through a difficult school year, is met with the clinical judgment of someone who has spent two decades doing exactly this kind of work in South Louisiana.
